Deb Fett,  CIO Ingham County -  Awarded IT Professional of the Year

The Mi-GMIS IT Professional of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding individual who advances and supports the use of technology within the government workplace to improve efficiencies and services, provides service to the IT community and contributes to professional organizations.

Deb Fett has more than 30 years of private-sector, education, and government sector experience in information technology, with a background built on strategy, management, networking, programming, and cybersecurity, she shares her talents not only Ingham County as their CIO, but also on the boards of several IT organizations including Mi-GMIS, Capital Area IT Council (CAITC) where she serves as Chairperson , and the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Lansing chapter where she serves as Vice President.

City of Lansing - Awarded IT Security Project of the Year Award

City of Lansing Cyber Security Program City governments are highly visible targets for security threats including phishing, hackers and ransomware due to the information stored on their systems including personnel files and taxpayer returns listing addresses, birthdates, and social security numbers; all information used for identity theft. To proactively combat, avert attacks and minimize the impact if an attack should occur, the City of Lansing developed and deployed its first Cyber Security Program in 2016. The primary goal of the program is to monitor security incidents, automate actions to limit the effect of an intrusion and educate end users of risks. The City of Lansing since implementing this program has received top rankings from the BitSight Security Rate Platform.
